🌍 24–31 October | Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2026
📰 In a world where information travels faster than ever and artificial intelligence makes it increasingly challenging to distinguish facts from misinformation, media literacy has become an essential skill for everyone.
This year's Global Media and Information Literacy Week, celebrated under the auspices of UNESCO, highlights the theme “We All Play a Part” – reminding us that everyone has a role in creating, consuming, and sharing information responsibly.
💡 We believe that media literacy, critical thinking, and digital skills are essential for building an informed, resilient, and inclusive society.
Through our educational activities and participation in European projects, we continuously promote these competences among adult learners, educators, and communities.
🎲 One of our many initiatives in this field was the successfully completed Erasmus+ project NEED – News Literacy on Board, which introduced an innovative game-based approach to developing news literacy skills.
Through educational board games, digital resources, and interactive learning activities, NEED helped adults and educators strengthen their ability to recognise misinformation, critically evaluate news, and navigate today's complex media environment.
🔎 During this special week, we encourage everyone to ask three simple questions before sharing information:
❓ Who created this content?
❓ Is the information supported by reliable evidence?
❓ Have I checked it against other trustworthy sources?
Media literacy is not just a skill for today – it is a lifelong competence that empowers us to make informed decisions and participate actively in society.
🤝 Let's continue building a culture of critical thinking, responsible information sharing, and lifelong learning!
